Men's Heavyweights to Compete in 157th Annual Harvard-Yale Regatta

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –– Harvard men's heavyweight rowing will travel to New London, Connecticut for the 157th annual Harvard-Yale Regatta. 

The first day of competition is on Friday, June 7th in which the Combination Race will commence, featuring the fourth varsity eight boats. This race will stretch from Mamacoke Hill before finishing at Bartlett's Cove. The race will start at 6:30 p.m. ET.

On Saturday, June 8th, all three eights will  navigate the four-mile course from Gold Star Bridge to Bartlett's Cove. The 3V, 2V and 1V races will all stream live on ESPN+.

The 3V Race begins at 9:45 a.m. and will be a two-mile course upstream. 

The 2V Race begins at 10:30 a.m. and will be a three-mile course upstream. 

The 3V Race begins at 11:30 a.m. and will be a four-mile course upstream. 

WHAT TO KNOW

  • The Harvard 2V carries a 77-42 all-time lead over Yale into Saturday's regatta. The Crimson finished in second last season (14:33.3). Harvard, however, has taken nine of the last 14 match ups.
  • The Crimson 3V leads its head-to-head series with Yale, 75-41, a mark that includes performances from the 3V and freshman boats. 
  • Harvard just competed in the IRA Championships this past weekend in West Windsor, New Jersey. There, the 1V came in 2nd place in the grand final, as Yale came in fifth. The 2V and 3V came in 5th and 6th respectively.
