Alofe, Blanks Earn All-America First Team Honors at NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – A pair of Crimson captured All-America First Team honors at the third day of the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, as first-year Tito Alofe and junior Graham Blanks placed in the top-10 in their respective events.

In the final team standings on the men side, the Crimson finished in a tie for 16th with 17 points.

Representing Harvard in the women's heptathlon at NCAAs for the second time in her career, junior Izzy Goudros began her journey at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships with the heptathlon 100 hurdles, crossing the finish line in 14.10.

Goudros crafted a great performance in the next leg of the heptathlon, the high jump. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Goudros cleared the bar at 1.63m (5'4.25"), matching her personal best in the event. In the shot put, Goudros posted a throw of 11.58m (38'0"), ending the day with a 23.67 in the heptathlon 200m. Her time in the 200m matches her personal-best.

With four events scored, Goudros sits in 17th place with 3,381 points heading into the final day of competition at Hayward Field.

A second team All-America selection in the indoor men's high jump, Alofe orchestrated one of his best performances on the sport's biggest stage.

The program record holder in the indoor high jump, Alofe cleared the opening heights of 2.07m (6'9.5"), 2.12m (6'11.5"), and 2.17m (7'1.5") on his initial attempts. With the bar now set at 2.20m (7'2.5"), Alofe glided past the bar on his first try, setting a new personal-best in the event. Alofe is now second all-time on the program performance list, just two centimeters off the school record of 2.22m (7'3.5") set by Melvyn C. Embree '76 at the 1976 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Hailing from Peachtree City, Georgia, Alofe is now a two-time All-American and earns first team All-America honors for the first time with a fourth place finish at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The night ended with the men's 5,000m, as Blanks and senior Acer Iverson donned the Harvard H for the final time this season. In a thrilling race, Blanks was in contention until the end, finishing in fifth place with a time of 13:57.81 to secure All-America First Team status. In the final race of his Harvard tenure, Iverson crossed the finish line in 14:10.93 to take 22nd place.
