CAMBRIDGE, Mass. –– Harvard men's lightweights are set to compete in this year's Henley Royal Regatta on the Thames in Englad. This historic event hosts some of the best crews worldwide, and this marks the first time in over ten years the Crimson lightweights will be in attendance. Harvard sends both an eight and a four to compete.
Harvard varsity eight will race in the Temple Challenge Cup. The first boat consists of
Anya Cheng (Cox),
James Stevenson (Stroke),
Ben Lundie,
Brahm Erdmann, Zarrett Mills,
Preston Darling,
Ryan McCarthy,
Alex Forbes, and
Kyle Sutherland.
The JV four will race in the Prince Albert Cup. The four consists of Zach Mecca (stroke), Mike Fairley,
David Picard,
Ben Weatherwax,
Jillian Medina (cox).
In its first competition, Harvard's varsity eight will race at 10:05 EST. The race will be streamed on YouTube. The four will not race until day two of the regatta.
