CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Sailing announced today its competition schedule for the 2025 Spring campaign. The Crimson will make its first appearance of the new calendar year March 1-2, and will close the season the final weekend of May.
Harvard will play host to four regattas this spring, with the first – the Harvard Women's Team Race – taking place during opening weekend. The Crimson will also compete that same weekend at the Liam O'Keefe Trophy Team Race in Providence, Rhode Island.
Harvard will welcome teams to its sailing center the following weekend, March 8-9, when it looks to defend its Wood Trophy Team Race title. The Crimson will also send a contingent to the Jenn Harris Women's Team Race in Annapolis, Maryland.
A return trip to Annapolis is in store the next weekend for a handful of Crimson sailors as it is scheduled to compete at the Graham Hall Trophy Team Race, March 15-16. The Crimson enters as the defending champion after finishing atop the 16-team leaderboard in 2024. Harvard will concurrently be at the Women's Southern New England Team Race, which is being hosted by Connecticut College.
The weekend of March 22-23, will feature another split-squad effort with a group traveling to the U.S. Coast Guard for the Friis Trophy Team Race and another competing at the Duplin Trophy Women's Team Race. The latter will be held at Harvard, but hosted by Tufts. A year ago, the Crimson came in third place at the Duplin and fourth at the Friis.
A three-regatta weekend is on the docket for March 29-30, with limited travel in store for Harvard. The Crimson is set to compete at the Dellenbaugh Trophy Women's Team Race in Providence, with the Marchiando Trophy Team Race and BU Trophy Fleet Race slated for the Charles River. Harvard won the MIT-hosted Marchiando Trophy in 2024.
The Crimson enters the final month of the regular season by playing host to its final home regatta of the campaign – the Fowle Trophy for the NEISA Team Racing Championship. Harvard welcomes its fellow NEISA schools to the Charles River looking to improve upon its runner-up performance from last year. Also scheduled for April 5-6, is the Yale Women's Team Race.
The NEISA Women's Team Racing Championship will take place April 12-13 in Providence with the Legler Trophy up for grabs. The Thompson Trophy Team Race is also scheduled for that weekend and will be hosted by U.S. Coast Guard. The Crimson finished in third place at the Legler Trophy and second at the Thompson Trophy a year ago.
Seven days later, a pair of NEISA fleet racing championships will get underway, with the women's version taking place in New Haven, Connecticut, and the open regatta in New London, Connecticut. Last season, Harvard won the NEISA Open Fleet Racing Championship in Providence. Meanwhile in Cambridge, Harvard will have sailors compete at the Boston Dinghy Club Challenge Cup. The April 19 regatta is set to have three divisions on the water for the fleet race event.
National championship season is slated for April 24-28, May 20-23, and May 27-30. The ICSA Open Team Race National Championship (April 24-26) will be held in Providence, along with the Women's Team Race National Championship (April 27-28). The open semis, meanwhile, are scheduled for May 27-28, with the finals to follow May 29-30. Both rounds will be in St. Mary's. The Crimson will enter the open regatta as the defending champions after finishing first among an 18-team field a year ago.
Harvard will return to action this spring after a successful Fall campaign that saw it win four regattas, finish in the top-3 on 11 different occasions, and post 18 upper-half finishes.
