No. 6 Men’s Squash Victorious in 7-2 Win Over No. 9 Cornell

ITHACA, N.Y.  – Harvard men's squash completed the sweep of its weekend matches this afternoon after earning a 7-2 result over the No. 9 Cornell Big Red. Harvard (5-1, 3-0 Ivy) won four matches in the fifth game to lift the team to a result over the top 10 Big Red.
 

HOW IT HAPPENED

Fresh off a thrilling 5-4 victory over Columbia yesterday afternoon, the Harvard Crimson made the trip to Ithaca to take on the No. 9 Cornell Big Red, looking to sweep the weekend and remain unbeaten in Ivy League action. The team jumped out to a strong 3-0 lead after the first set of matches completed with a trio of Crimson victories.
 
David Costales led the way with a quick 3-0 win at the top of the ladder, remaining unbeaten on the season with another winning result. Segev Rome followed his lead, winning in a 3-0 sweep. At the seven spot, Conner Stoltz completed one of the best victories of the day after winning a five-set thriller. Stoltz and his opponent split the first four games, before the junior emerged victorious in a tie-breaker during the fifth and final game, 12-10.
 
In the second wave, Neel Joshi put the Crimson in a position to clinch with a clutch 3-2 victory at the third pairing. Louis Murray clinched the victory for Harvard with another 3-2 win in his matchup in the eight spot. After falling in a competitive first game, Murray won two games in a row before claiming the win in five games.
 
In the final wave, Jacob Lin claimed another victory from the four spot in a 3-1 win, to boost the Crimson advantage. Denis Gilevskiy added another win to the Crimson tally with a 3-2 victory at the second pairing to close out the scoring for Harvard.
