CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's Swimming and Diving returns to the pool deck on Friday afternoon to compete at Arizona. The meet in Tucson is scheduled for a 4 p.m. ET/2 p.m. MT start at Hillenbrand Aquatic Center.

What to Know

  • Harvard puts an end to its annual holiday break this week when it faces the Wildcats in Tucson. The last time the Crimson was in action, Dec. 4-7, it finished in second place at the Minnesota Invitational. Harvard completed the four-day Minnesota Invite with 1,209 points, finishing behind fifth-ranked California (2,096) and ahead of No. 18 Minnesota (1,164), Denver (778.50) and UNLV (773.50).
  • The Crimson had two new entries into the program record book during its time at the Minnesota Invitational. David Schmitt posted the sixth-fastest 100-fly time, registering a 46.26 performance. Joshua Chen, meanwhile, entered at No. 10 on the 200 breast all-time performance list, putting up a time of 1:58.56.
  • Harvard comes into the dual meet with a 3-0 (3-0 Ivy League) record in head-to-head matchups this season. The Crimson's last one-on-one clash came on Nov. 22 as it emerged with a 201-99 victory. Dating to last season, Harvard has won five straight dual meets.
  • The Crimson is looking for its first 4-0 start since 2022-23, when it completed the campaign with an unblemished 7-0 mark.
  • Harvard's trip to Arizona is somewhat of a homecoming for sophomore Tristan Dalbey, who is a native of Scottsdale. Dalbey graduated from Chaparral High School, which is located 125 miles from the Tucson campus.

The Crimson, however, is 5-0 against the current Big 12 Conference alignment (2-0 vs. Arizona State, 1-0 vs. BYU, 1-0 vs. Kansas, 1-0 vs. Utah). Friday's contest will mark Harvard's first dual meet against a current Big 12 team since a Jan. 2018 tilt at ASU.
  • The Wildcats, who are receiving votes in the latest CSCAA Top 25 Poll, is 2-3 on the season and will be in action for the first time since Dec. 21, when it defeated conference foe BYU, 240-107.
