CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Football will carry into a game for the first time a top-10 ranking in both major top-25 polls. The Crimson is ranked No. 8 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 Poll and No. 10 in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll.
Despite defeating Penn, 45-43, on Saturday to secure its ninth victory in nine tries this season, Harvard fell one spot in the Stats Perform rankings. Last week's No. 7 position was the highest in school history and the best ranking in the Ivy League since at least 1986.
As for coaches poll, the Crimson continued its season-long theme of inching up the national top 25, moving up one spot to No. 10. Outside of going from No. 25 to No. 20 after beating Princeton, Harvard has not jumped more than three spots in any of the weeks that followed despite impressive performances.
The Crimson, which secured at least a share of its third straight Ivy League title last weekend, will look to clinch an outright championship and the conference's automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs this Saturday at Yale. The Bulldogs sit one game behind the Crimson in the league standings at 5-1 (7-2 overall). The 141
st edition of The Game is set for a noon ET start and will air live on ESPNU.
