CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The No. 3 Harvard men's squash team will continue its 2025-26 season this Tuesday with a cross-town rivalry match against No. 13 MIT. The sides are set to square off on Tuesday when the Crimson (1-0, 0-0 Ivy) make the short trip across Cambridge to battle the Engineers (5-0, 0-0 MASC).
What to Know
The Matchup
Harvard will play the second match of its 2025-26 season this Tuesday when it takes on the MIT Engineers on their home courts at the Zesiger fitness center. The No. 3 Crimson come into the meeting fresh off a 9-0 win over Western Ontario while the Engineers sport a 5-0 record in the early stages of its season. The match is set to begin at 5:00 PM at the Zesiger Center on the campus of MIT.
Last Time Out
Harvard opened its 2025-26 season in Canada this past Saturday (Nov. 16) with a match against the Western Ontario Mustangs. The Crimson swept the Mustangs in convincing fashion, winning all but two matchups in straight games. The first-year trio of

Scouting MIT
The MIT Engineers come into the meeting against the Crimson with a 5-0 record after defeating No. 18 Western Ontario and No. 19 Rochester in its last two matches. The win over Rochester was the first for the program since the 2002 season. The Engineers posted wins over Northeastern, Boston University and Boston College to open the season.
Zachary Starr, Isaac Torchinsky-Field and Eddie Xue all are tied for the team lead with 5-0 records. Ethan Chan and Hyun Su Price have split time at the No. 1 position for MIT, holding 2-0 and 2-1 records, respectively.
Series History
One of the most familiar opponents in program history, the Crimson and the Engineers have met 65 times in history. Harvard owns a 63-2 advantage in the all-time series that dates all the way back to 1933. The Crimson has not fallen to MIT since the 1955 season and own a 10-0 record in the last ten meetings.

David Costales in the role for the Crimson. The duo will lead the Crimson on and off the courts during the 2025-26 season.
The First-Years
Harvard retooled this offseason by bringing three new student-athletes into the program. The highly touted group of first-year players hope to make an immediate impact when they make their collegiate debuts this weekend.
Alexander Broadbridge (Fareham, Hampshire, England),
Christian Capella (Tuxedo Park, N.Y.) and
Maddox Moxham (Darien, Conn.) make up the Harvard men's squash class of 2029. All three first-year players earned their first collegiate wins in the match against Western Ontario.
At the Helm
Mike Way, Gregory Lee '87 and Russell Ball '88 Endowed Coach for Squash at Harvard University, returns to lead the Crimson in what will be his 16th season at the helm of the program. In 15 seasons, Way has introduced a new era of success for the Crimson by posting a 190-41 record – including a 74-13 mark in Ivy League play – while securing seven Ivy League titles and five National Championships.
