CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The two collegiate squash teams in Cambridge faced off on the squash court this evening in the annual battle between Harvard and MIT. The No. 3 Crimson (2-0, 0-0 Ivy) cruised to an 8-1 victory over the cross-town rival MIT (5-1, 0-0 MASC). Harvard was in control for the duration of the match and held on to remain unbeaten on the season and head into Ivy League play with a 2-0 record.
How it Happened
The Harvard men's squash team made the short trip across Cambridge this evening to take on the MIT Engineers at the Zesiger center on the MIT campus. The Crimson was looking to build on its strong start to the 2025-26 season when it met the No. 13 Engineers on the courts for the 66
th time in series history.
Harvard jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the contest with sweeps in the first trio of matches.
Omar Azzam,
Maddox Moxham and
Segev Rome swept their opponents at twos, fours and sixes, respectively to power the Crimson start.
After falling in the first game in his match at eights,
Ishant Shah rallied to win three consecutive matches and win, 3-1. It was Shah's first win since the 2023 season after missing last year due to injury.
Another strong run for the Crimson helped the team clinch the victory.

Louis Murray swept their opponents at threes, fives, sevens and nines to push the Crimson total to eight wins.
Denis Gilevskiy battled in his match at the top of the ladder. The senior captain took the first game before falling in the second and third games, falling behind 1-2 in the match. Gilevskiy rallied with an 11-8 win in the fourth before falling in the decisive fifth game.
Harvard remained unbeaten on the year with the victory over the No. 13 Engineers.
