CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard squash had eight of its members honored with the College Squash Association's Scholar Athlete Award. Five men's and three women's student-athletes earned the honor by posting high marks in the classroom. This recognition reflects the CSA's deep commitment to the core values of college squash: competitive excellence, academic integrity, and personal growth. Scholar Athletes represent what is possible when passion for sport is matched by dedication in the classroom. These student-athletes model the discipline, focus, and determination that define the best of college athletics.
On the men's side, David Costales, Denis Gilevskiy, Louis Murray, Jacob Lin, and Marcus Lee earned the honor. The Crimson finished as the runner up in both the Ivy League Championship and the CSA Team National Championship. Saran Nghiem, Lucie Stefanoni, and Molly Stoltz made up the three award winners from the women's team, who reached the semifinals in the Ivy League Championship as well as the CSA Team National Championship.
Costales, Gilevskiy, Nghiem, and Stoltz each earned their second career Scholar Athlete Award, with the rest receiving their first Scholar Athlete honor after a strong year in the classroom. Additionally, Nghiem and Gilevskiy were the Crimson's members on the Academic All-Ivy team.
The CSA places a high value on the Scholar Athlete Award as it embodies the dual commitment that makes college squash so special. Balancing intense training, team travel, and match play with the demands of rigorous coursework is no small task. Honoring those who manage both with distinction is one of the most meaningful moments of our season.
