COLUMBIA, Mo. – The 2025 campaign is in the books for Harvard cross country, as the Crimson conclude the year with a strong showing at the 2025 NCAA Cross Country Championships at Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
The men's team finished in 29
th place in the team standings of the men's 10k championship race with 656 points, as a pair of Crimson finished in the top 125 to lead Harvard's scoring efforts in Columbia. An All-Ivy League and Northeast All-Region selection this season, junior and team captain
Sam Burgess capped his year with an 80
th place showing at the NCAA Championships with a time of 29:30.1, Harvard's top performance in Columbia. Fellow captain and classmate
Charlie Ortmans took 122
nd place after clocking a 29:46.3.
Three more Crimson contributed to the scoring in the men's 10k championship race. In his NCAA Championships debut, first-year
Tam Gavenas finished in 166
th with a time of 30:07.1. Another Crimson making his NCAA Championships debut, first-year
Benjamin Bouie captured 178
th place with a time of 30:15.3. Junior
Ethan Aidam wrapped up Harvard's scoring run at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course, taking 248
th after finishing the race in 31:53.4.
On the women's side, senior
Molly Malague concluded her Crimson cross country career with a 146
th place showing at her third NCAA Cross Country Championships. A native of Metuchen, New Jersey, Malague posted a time of 20:11.9 in the women's 6k championship race. Malague concludes her Harvard cross country tenure as a two-time Northeast All-Region honoree and a two-time All-Ivy League selection.
