Football's Bartrum, Aurich Earn Awards from Gridiron Club of Greater Boston

BOSTON – Harvard Football senior safety Ty Bartrum and Andrew Aurich, The Thomas Stephenson Family Head Coach for Harvard Football, have both earned prestigious honors from the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston. Bartrum is the recipient of the Bulger Lowe Award and Aurich is the Club's Head Coach of the Year.

The 87th annual Bulger Lowe Award is given to the best players on offense and defense at the NCAA FBS/FCS levels. Bartrum was named the Club's top player on defense, while the offensive honor went to Joe Fagnano of UConn. The Bulger Lowe is the nation's second-oldest nationally recognized college football award, after the Heisman Trophy.

Bartrum is the third Harvard player in the last four seasons to receive the Bulger Lowe Award. Truman Jones was the recipient in 2022 and Thor Griffith took home the award in 2023.

Aurich, meanwhile, is the Club's top coach this season at the FBS and FCS levels. In Year 2, Aurich led the Crimson to a 9-1 record (6-1 Ivy League), helped it win its third straight conference title, and will lead it into the NCAA FCS Playoffs for the first time. A top-10 team the final three weeks of the regular-season, Harvard earned an at-large invitation to the postseason on Sunday and will face Villanova this Saturday on the road (noon ET, ESPN+).

Bartrum and Aurich, along with the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston's other award winners, will be honored at the Club's annual Bob Whelan College Night on Dec. 15, at Burlington Marriott Hotel.
