Women’s Basketball Faces Holy Cross, Stony Brook in Return Home

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's basketball will return home for the first time since its season opener for four straight games in Lavietes Pavilion this December.  The Crimson will open the homestretch against Holy Cross on Wednesday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m. ET.  Then, less than 48 hours later, Harvard will welcome Stony Brook to Cambridge on Friday, December 5 at 11:00 a.m. ET. 

What to Know

  • The Crimson's 2025-26 season is comprised of 13 nonconference games and its annual 14-game Ivy League slate.  Harvard played nine of its nonconference games in November and eight of them took place outside Cambridge, Mass.
  • Overall, the Crimson went 4-5 in the first month of action.  Harvard has faced a stacked schedule so far, having faced five power conference opponents including Michigan (Big Ten), Cal (ACC), Boston College (ACC), Alabama (SEC), and Arkansas (SEC). 
  • Most recently, the Crimson closed out its eight-game road stretch with a historic win over Arkansas, 69-51.  The victory marked the first over a SEC opponent in program history. 
  • In the win, four Harvard players reached double figures including Alayna Rocco (15), Katie Krupa (15), Aubrey Shaw (11), and Saniyah Glenn-Bello (10).  Rocco and Shaw's totals marked career bests.
  • Abigail Wright is putting up career numbers in her junior campaign by averaging 14.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.  She ranks sixth for both scoring and rebounding in the Ivy League.  Additionally, by averaging 4.0 offensive rebounds per game, Wright ranks as the 19th best offensive rebounder in the nation. 
  • Saniyah Glenn-Bello is distributing for her teammates and ranks 11th in the league for assists with her team-best 2.8 per game.  Across the last five games the senior is averaging 12.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.6 steals up from 4.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.5 blocks, and 1.3 steals in the first four games. 
  • Katie Krupa and Glenn-Bello are currently the fourth- and fifth-best shot blockers in the conference with 1.1 and 1.0 blocks per game, respectively. 
  • Prior to the season, the Crimson elected juniors, White and Wright as captains of the 2025-26 Harvard women's basketball team. 
  • Prior to this season, Carrie Moore, the Kathy Delaney-Smith Head Coach for Harvard Women's Basketball; The Ragatz Family Harvard Coach of Excellence, was named to the preseason watch list for the 2026 Kathy Delaney-Smith Mid-Major Coach of the Year Award.  Moore was one of five finalists for the award last season. 
  • In the most recent Mid-Major Top 25 poll, the Crimson checked in at No. 24. 
  • In the first NET Rankings of the 2025-26 season, Harvard checked in at 68.  The Crimson has the second-best NET in the league trailing only Princeton at 29. 
  • The Crimson was picked to finish third in the Ivy league Preseason Poll, receiving 126 points, including one first-place vote.  Harvard trailed only Princeton (163) and Columbia (147). 
  • The Crimson and the Crusaders of Holy Cross have met 14 times in history with the series being deadlock at 7-7. 
  • Despite being separated by just 47 miles, this will be the first meeting for the two schools in more than 10 years.  Harvard won the last match up in 2014, 79-76 in overtime. 
  • Harvard holds a strong 4-1 lead in the all-time series versus Stony Brook. 
  • Included in its two-game win streak versus the Seawolves, is Harvard's 60-51 victory from a season ago.

Harvard will have more than two weeks off before returning to action against the University of Maine on Sunday, December 21.  Tip-off is set for 12:00 p.m. ET inside Lavietes Pavilion and on ESPN+.
