CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After wrapping up the 2025 cross country season in Missouri last month, Harvard now turns its attention to the 2026-26 indoor track & field season, as the Crimson kickoff the campaign with three meets this weekend.
On Friday, Dec. 5, the Crimson begins the season at Gordon Indoor Track, as Harvard hosts the HBCU & Ivy Challenge. Action at Gordon Indoor Track continues on Saturday, Dec. 6, as Harvard welcomes competitors for the Harvard Classic. Select Crimson will also compete at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center on Saturday, Dec. 6.
Both the HBCU & Ivy Challenge and the Harvard Classic will air live on ESPN+, while Harvard fans can catch the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener on FloTrack.
CRIMSON UPDATES:
- Once again, Harvard's track & field roster is filled with high level talent, as the Crimson bring back seven All-Americans from last season.
- A four-time NCAA Championships qualifier in the men's high jump and the school record holder in the event, junior Tito Alofe returns for his third season in Cambridge. At the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships, Alofe earned All-America Second Team honors after finishing in 11th in the high jump, as the Peachtree City, Georgia native was also the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's Men's Field Athlete of the Year for the 2025 outdoor season.
- Junior Ferenc Kovacs enjoyed a breakout outdoor track & field season in 2025, as the Torokbalint, Hungary native finished in third in the men's 1500m at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championships to earn All-America First Team status in the event. Kovacs also won Ivy League titles in the 800m and the 4x800m relay at the 2025 Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships.
- Last season saw junior Marta Amani make a statement on the national stage, taking 13th in the women's long jump at the NCAA Outdoor Championships to go along with an Ivy League title in the 4x400m relay at the 2025 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championships. A native of Villa Cortese, Italy, Amani is the first student-athlete in school history to earn All-America status in the women's long jump.
- One of the most decorated 800m runners in Ancient Eight history, junior Sophia Gorriaran returns to the track after a stellar 2025 cross country campaign that saw the Providence, Rhode Island native earn All-Ivy League First Team honors. Gorriaran is a four time All-American in the 800m and also took All-America First Team honors in the 4x400m relay last season.
- Senior Penelope Salmon was a member of a Crimson women's distance medley relay team that earned All-America First Team status at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships, as Salmon also won an Ivy League title in the 5000m at the 2025 Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships.
- Two top tier throwing talents on the women's team return to Cambridge for their junior seasons as well. Junior Emilia Kolokotroni was an All-America Second Team honoree in the women's hammer throw, as she also earned All-Ivy League Second Team status in the women's weight throw. Fellow classmate Milina Wepiwé is a two-time All-American in the women's discus throw.
- Along with its stable of talented returners, Harvard also welcomed 31 first-years to the roster.
