Jimmy Harrington finished in eighth place in the 157-pound weight class to lead Harvard University wrestling at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational as competition wrapped up on day two on Saturday.

Harrington won each of his first two matches on day one on Friday and added a win in the blood round in his final bout of the opening day to capture a spot on the podium. On Saturday, Harrington was forced to medically forfeit, taking eighth place.

Dante Frinzi posted two wins at 141 pounds to move onto the second session, and junior
Joseph Cangro notched a win at 165 pounds to remain in contention into the evening.Â
Harvard Highlights
- Senior 157-pounder Jimmy Harrington opened his time at the event with consecutive victories in the rounds of 32 and 16. In his first bout, he defeated Oklahoma's Layton Schneider via a 10-2 major decision in the round of 32. Harrington then beat Northwestern's Gunnar Myers with a 9-5 decision in the round of 16. Following a setback to Iowa State's Vinny Zerban in the quarterfinals, Harrington topped Cal Poly's Jagger French, 2-0, to earn a spot in the placing rounds and advance to Saturday. Harrington was forced to take a medical forfeit in each of his two matches on Saturday to finish in eighth place.
- Coming out of the Friday's first session, the Crimson advanced three wrestlers to the evening session on Friday with senior Jimmy Harrington claiming a spot in the quarterfinals and senior Dante Frinzi and junior Joseph Cangro each moving onto the consolation bracket.
- Senior Dante Frinzi earned a pair of wins at 141 pounds. Following a setback in the round of 32, Frinzi responded with back-to-back wins in the consolation rounds. He began with a fall in 2:27 against Charles Curtis of Northern Illinois before registering a 6-0 decision over John Hildebrandt of Sacred Heart. Frinzi notched his second fall of the season.
- Junior Joseph Cangro registered a win at 165 pounds to make it to the evening session. After a narrow 5-3 setback to Nicco Ruiz of Arizona State in the round of 16, Cangro came back with a 17-2 technical fall in 5:04 of CSU Bakersfield's Evan Manzo in the consolation. Cangro then dropped another narrow decision – 14-10 to Oregon State's Matthew Olguin – in the proceeding round.
