Karly Heffernan ’19 Named to Forbes 30-Under-30 List

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Harvard women's hockey alumnae, Karly Heffernan, was named to the Forbes 30-Under-30 list in the Manufacturing & Industry category this year after her groundbreaking work in the construction space. Heffernan, who is a part of the Harvard Class of 2019, cofounded her company Hardline, the first voice-first platform built for construction sites.

Launched in 2025, the startup records phone calls and on-site conversations which are then documented and summarized to help streamline and expedite the construction planning and process phases. The company currently has 70 users and just launched a pilot program with six construction companies.

A 2019 graduate of Harvard College, Heffernan was a four-year member of the Harvard Women's Ice Hockey Team. An Alberta, Canada native, Heffernan played two seasons with the Crimson before medically retiring from the sport. She remained with the team in a different role during her junior and senior years at the college and even collected ECAC All-Academic honors in both seasons.

Heffernan notched 44 points in her first two seasons with the Crimson before suffering the injury. On the international level, Heffernan shined by helping Team Canada win back-to-back IIH U18 World Championships in 2013 and 2014. In the 2013 tournament Gold Medal Game, Heffernan scored the game-winning-goal in overtime to help her team lift the World Championship trophy.

Today, Heffernan is breaking through the male-dominated construction industry to become a leader in the construction tech space. Heffernan and her team hope to innovate and modernize construction communication inefficiencies using AI.
