CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's Basketball first-year guard
Robert Hinton has earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors for the sixth time this season, the Ivy League conference office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Hinton tallied 18.0 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game last week, while shooting 13-of-21 from the field (61.9 percent), 2-of-2 on 3-pointers, and 8-of-10 at the foul line. He scored a career-high 28 points on 10-of-15 field goals, 1-of-1 treys, and 8-of-10 free throws with a career-high four steals and two assists in the 90-82 win at Columbia. He added eight points and a team-high three assists at Cornell the following night.
For the season, Hinton ranks 10
th in the Ivy League in points per game (13.8) and eighth in field goals made (99). Among first-years in the NCAA, he stands 14
th in field goals made per game (5.2) and 21
st in points per game (13.8). For the year, he has scored in double figures 12 times and has eclipsed 20 points three times.
As a team, Harvard has tallied seven Ivy League Rookie of the Week awards on the season with Hinton winning the award six times (Nov. 11, Nov. 25, Dec. 9, Jan. 13, Jan. 21, Feb. 3), and fellow first-year guard
Austin Hunt capturing the award once (Dec. 30). The Crimson stands as the only program in the league to have multiple first-years win the award this season.
