BOSTON, Mass. – Harvard track & field wrapped up the weekend with another run of stellar and notable performances, as the Crimson broke an additional two school records at the Scarlet & White Invite and the Crimson Open.
In the women's 400m at the Scarlet & White Invite, senior
Victoria Bossong was the top collegiate performer, as she improved her school record in the event with a time of 52.02. A 2024 All-American Second Team selection in the outdoor 800m, Bossong now ranks fifth nationally in the women's 400m with her result at the Scarlet & White Invite.
Later in the day, Bossong did it again, as she broke the school record in the women's 1000m with a time of 2:41.66. A native of Cumberland Foreside, Maine, Bossong ranks second in the Ivy League in the 1000m this season.
HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS:
- The Crimson kicked-off the day in the women's 800m, as senior Ellaney Matarese led the way for Harvard in the event with a 26th place finish, posting a time of 2:11.99 in the process.
- A two-time All-American in the indoor and outdoor 800m, sophomore Sophia Gorriaran crossed the finish line in 1:12.01 for a second place finish in the women's 500m.
- On the men's side of the 500m, first-year JT Kraemer captured third place with a time of 1:03.53, as that time ranks ninth all-time in school history. Junior Reuben Henry-Daire also took a spot in the top-15 of the men's 500m, placing 13th with a time of 1:05.35.
- Bossong made her statement in the 400m shortly after, finishing in second place overall with a time of 52.02, improving her school record in the event in the process. A native of Cumberland Foreside, Maine, Bossong now ranks fifth nationally in the 400m this season. Along with Bossong's impressive performance, senior Chloe Fair finished in third, clocking a personal-best of 52.92.
- A trio of Crimson finished in the top of five of the women's 200m. Fair and junior Mfoniso Andrew both clocked times of 24.14 for second and third place finishes, respectively. One of Harvard's team captains, Andrew now ranks eighth all-time in school history in the women's 200m. First-Year Ella Cooper rounded out the top-five, placing fifth with a time of 24.27.
- After breaking the program record in the men's 60m last night, sophomore Timi Esan returned to the track with a fourth place finish in the 200m, posting a time of 21.32 in the process. First-Years Liam Acevedo (16th/21.76) and Jordan Coleman (20th/21.90) both finished in the top-20 of the men's 200m as well.
- Bossong broke her second school record of the day in the women's 1000m, as she crossed the finish line in 2:41.66, surpassing the former school record of 2:43.03 set by Maia Ramsden '24 in 2023.
- Along with Bossong, Matarese followed her showing in the 800m with a fifth place finish in the 1000m, posting a time of 2:52.03.
- In the women's 3000m, junior Penelope Salmon highlighted the Crimson's efforts in the event, as she finished in 11th with a time of 9:12.56. A native of Auckland, New Zealand, Salmon ranks third in program history in the women's 3000m with her result at the Scarlet & White Invite.
- Over on the men's side of the 3000m, another top-10 mark was recorded, as junior Shane Brosnan finished in 14th place with a time of 7:53.86. An All-Region selection in cross country action, Brosnan now ranks fifth all-time in Harvard history in the 3000m.
- Over at the Crimson Open, first-year Camren Ware took sixth place in the men's 60m finals, as sprinted to a 6.96. Ware also took 14th in the 200m with a time of 22.94.
- In the men's 60m hurdles finals at the Crimson Open, sophomore Simon Weiser took second place, crossing the finish line in 8.11.

Three meets await the Crimson next weekend, as Harvard student-athletes will take center stage at the Valentine Invitational, the Wisconsin Windy City Invite, and the Eagle Elite Invitational on Friday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 15.
