ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Harvard Sailing made it out of the first round of action to advance to the top-6 portion of racing before ultimately finishing in sixth place at the 12-team Jen Harris Women's Team Race this past weekend. The Crimson was also scheduled to play host to the Wood Trophy Team Race, but the regatta was canceled due to ice on the Charles River.

Eighth-ranked Harvard competed in an environment that featured winds that started between 8-10 knots (NW) before escalating to the 18-25 range on Saturday. The following day was highlighted by gusts in the 15-20 knot range that originated out of the southwest.
The Crimson opened with convincing wins against Old Dominion and Penn, finishing 2-3-4 and 1-2-3, respectively, before falling to Georgetown and Brown by identical 3-4-6 performances. Harvard, however, responded with four victories in its next four races, defeating Fordham (1-2-3), Hobart and William Smith Colleges (1-2-5), College of Charleston (1-2-4) and Navy (1-2-4). The Crimson's streak was halted with losses to Yale (3-4-6) and Cornell (2-3-5), but ended on a positive note as it earned a 1-2-6 decision vs. South Florida.
With a 7-4 first-round record, Harvard finished in the top-6 along with Brown, College of Charleston, Cornell, Georgetown and Yale. When the action resumed on Sunday, the Crimson struggled to build off its Saturday win vs. USF, falling to College of Charleston (4-5-6), Cornell (1-4-6), Brown (1-5-6) and Yale (3-4-6), despite finishing first in races vs. the Big Red and Bears. Harvard, however, ended its time in Annapolis with a victory, taking down the Hoyas, 1-2-4.

Kate Danielson served as skippers on the Crimson's three boats, with
Amelie Zucker paired with Danielson the entire weekend. Burn shared her space with crew members
Sophia Montgomery (Navy, CofC, H&W, Cornell, Yale, Fordham) and
Margo Silliman (Penn, Georgetown, ODU, Brown, USF), with Ziskind competing with Silliman (Navy, CofC), Montgomery (USF) and
Peyton Hadfield (Penn, Georgetown, ODU, Brown, H&W, Cornell, Yale, Fordham).

Harvard will send another contingent to Annapolis this weekend for the Graham Hall Trophy Team Race, while also competing in New London, Connecticut, for the Women's Southern New England Team Race. Both regattas are scheduled for March 15-16.
