No. 12 Men’s Tennis to Face Road Tests at SDSU, No. 6 USD, No. 44 UCI This Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – No. 12 Harvard Men's Tennis will face a tough road test this week in California, with San Diego State, sixth-ranked San Diego and No. 44 UC Irvine all on the docket. The Crimson will face the Aztecs on Tuesday, the Toreros on Friday and the Anteaters on Sunday.

What to Know

  • The Crimson has won seven straight matches and is 11-3 on the season. During its run, Harvard has defeated a power conference foe (Louisville), three Ivy League members (Brown, Penn, Princeton), two ranked teams (No. 55 Memphis, No. 36 Middle Tennessee State) and a regional opponent (Quinnipiac).
  • Harvard returns to the road for the first time since Feb. 14-16, when it won the ECAC title in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Prior to that, the Crimson split a road trip to North Carolina (L, 3-4 at No. 12 Duke; W, 5-2 at No. 22 NC State) and the Midwest (W, 5-2 at Northwestern; L, 3-4 at No. 17 Michigan).
  • The Crimson will hit the court for the first time since sweeping a March 2 home doubleheader vs. MTSU (W, 4-2) and Quinnipiac (W, 7-0).
  • In the latest ITA singles rankings, Daniel Milavsky finds himself at No. 23, while Benjamin Privara sits at No. 83. Milavsky has played all his spring matches at the top of the order and sports a 10-2 record. Privara has seen all his action at No. 2 and has three wins to his credit.
  • On the doubles side, Privara and Masato Perera are rated the No. 18 duo in the country and are 6-3 during the dual season, with all nine decisions coming at the top of the ladder. Milavsky and David Lins check in at No. 89 and are 11-1 at the second position.
  • Harvard will meet San Diego State (6-7) for the first time since taking two matches in 2023. The Crimson has won nine straight vs. the Aztecs and have not yielded more than one team point in six consecutive meetings. Harvard enters with a 15-5 all-time series lead.
  • The Crimson has split its last four meetings with the Toreros (14-2), but will be looking for its first victory since 2014. Harvard trails USD in the all-time series, 7-9-1. The Toreros will face Columbia on Monday.
  • After spending time in America's Finest City, Harvard will travel north on Interstate 5 to meet UC Irvine (9-3) for the 12th time in series history. The Crimson has won two straight vs. the Anteaters and own a 7-4 edge in the series. This season's contest will mark the first since a 4-3 Harvard win in 2017. UCI will play host to Dartmouth on Saturday.
