WASHINGTON, D.C. – In its first midweek contest of the 2025 season, Harvard softball didn't miss a beat, as the Crimson blanked Georgetown on the road in its fifth-straight win, 2-0. The victory represents Harvard's first shutout of the campaign.
Junior
Riley Flynn started for the Crimson in the circle. After a pair of dominant showings in California, Flynn pitched 3.2 shutout innings, allowing only four hits with three strikeouts. Taking over in the circle in the fourth inning, sophomore
Nicolette Hunter put the Crimson in a position to win against the Hoyas with 3.1 scoreless and hitless innings, striking out two batters in the process.
Offensively, sophomore outfielder
Audrey Szollosi and junior infielder
Finley Payne led the way with two hits each, as Harvard outhit the hosts, 8-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Both pitching staffs excelled throughout the contest, as Harvard (10-4, 0-0 Ivy League) and Georgetown (8-12, 0-6 BIG EAST) held each other scoreless for the first five innings in the nation's capital.
Flynn was on point in her seventh start of the season, striking out three batters in the first two frames. A native of Camarillo, California, Hunter was dominant in her relief appearance, holding the hosts without a hit or run in 3.1 innings of work.
The Crimson produced the game-winning runs in the sixth inning. Szollosi recorded a lead off single to start the frame, as she stole second to setup an early scoring opportunity. After a walk from senior outfielder and team captain

Sophie Sun loaded the bases with single up the middle with no outs.
A wild pitch from the Hoyas scored the first run for Harvard, 1-0, as first-year catcher
Quinn Salazar-Stewart brought home the second and final run of the contest, 2-0.
Harvard recorded its fifth straight win with two runs on eight hits, as the Crimson shutout an opponent for the first time this year.
HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS:
- Flynn and Hunter combined to post Harvard's first shutout of the 2025 campaign.
- A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Flynn lowered her team-best earned run average to 1.85 with 3.2 scoreless innings against Georgetown.
- Payne and Szollosi both posted multi-hit efforts.
- Sun extended her hitting streak to 11 games.
