CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's lightweight rowing will travel to
Lake Carnegie to take on
Yale and Princeton on
Saturday, April 26. The regatta will stream live on
ESPN+ and the
international feed.
The race will determine the winners of two historic trophies: the
Goldthwait Cup (Harvard vs. Princeton) and the
Vogel Cup (Harvard vs. Yale).
Harvard leads the all-time series against Yale, 59–40, dating back to 1921, and earned a four-second victory over the Bulldogs in 2024. Against Princeton, the Crimson hold a 59–42 edge in the series and won last year's contest by five seconds.
Both the
first and second varsity eights remain
undefeated this season, with victories over
Cornell, Princeton, Georgetown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Navy, and
MIT.
Harvard entered the year as the
reigning IRA national champion in both the 1V and 2V events. The 1V returns nearly intact, led by standout
coxswain Anya Cheng and
senior captain Brahm Erdmann.
Erdmann (Auckland, New Zealand) and junior
Ben Lundie (London, UK) were both named to the
IRCA Lightweight Men's Watch List, underscoring the crew's elite level of experience and international caliber.
