CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Sailing collected two of NEISA's top individual awards and had 10 athletes earn All-NEISA accolades, it was announced Wednesday.
Justin Callahan was named the Open Skipper of the Year, while
Cordelia Burn was the recipient of the Sportswoman-of-the-Year honor. The Crimson's 10 all-conference selections, meanwhile, matched last season's total.
Callahan, who was also tabbed as an All-NEISA First-Team Open Skipper, is just the second Harvard athlete to be named NEISA's top skipper. Kyle Kovacs '08 was the first back in 2008, when the honor was then known as the NEISA Sailor of the Year. Callahan also joins Kovacs as the only three-time first-team All-NEISA open skippers in program history.
Burn was voted the top sportsperson in NEISA women's sailing, marking the fourth time a Crimson athlete has taken home the award. The senior is the first two-time winner in program history after collecting the accolade in 2023. Burn was also tabbed a first-team women's skipper for the second consecutive campaign.
Mitchell Callahan landed on the All-NEISA Open Skipper First Team. The accolade was the first of the junior's career as was
Robby Meek's appointment to the Open Skipper Second Team.
Kennedy Leehealey was a first-team open crew selection for a third time, becoming the first Harvard sailor to accomplish the feat. The junior was also a finalist for the Babineau Crew-of-the-Year Award that ultimately went to Yale's Sarah Moeder.
Alexandra Dorofeev, meanwhile, was a second-team choice, joining Jacob Bradt '16 as the only two sailors to be appointed to the second team twice in their careers.
In addition to Burn,
Zoey Ziskind was selected as a first-team women's skipper. The honor is Ziskind's first of her career after being named the 2024 NEISA Women's Rookie of the Year.
Kate Danielson earned a spot on the women's skipper second team in her first season in Cambridge.
As for the crews on the women's side,
Margo Silliman was announced as a first-team selection, becoming the fifth Crimson athlete to be twice named to the top squad.
Peyton Hadfield, meanwhile, was a second-team choice to pocket the first honor of her career.
Harvard returns to action on Thursday when it competes at the ICSA Open Team Race National Championship in Cranston, Rhode Island.
