CRANSTON, R.I. – Top-ranked Harvard Sailing finds itself in a tie for second place after one day of action at the 2025 ICSA Open Team Race National Championship. The Crimson and Roger Williams are both 8-2, sitting just a half-win behind Yale and its 9-2 mark.

After a delayed start due to a lack of wind, the Crimson began slowly, dropping its first two decisions. Harvard finished 3-4-6 in its opener vs. Dartmouth before posting a 1-5-6 effort to the host Brown.
Sitting at 0-2, the Crimson ripped off eight straight victories to finish off its day to climb into a second-place tie. Harvard dismissed Tufts by going 1-2-6, and then rattled off 1-2-3 performances against Navy, Tulane, Stanford and Bowdoin to improve to 5-2. The Crimson then defeated Georgetown (1-2-4) and Roger Williams (1-3-4) to finish its day.
Next up for Harvard are head-to-head matchups with College of Charleston, Yale, St. Mary's College of Maryland, U.S. Coast Guard and Boston College. After those five races are complete, the teams with the top-8 records will move on.
Friday's action is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. ET, with ESPN+ beginning its coverage at 1 p.m. ET.
