Grace Taylor Named to Allstate NACDA Spring Good Works Team

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Grace Taylor has been named to the Allstate NACDA Spring Good Works Team for excellence in the community, in the classroom, and in competition, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics announced on Wednesday.

The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team is an initiative that recognizes and honors student-athletes who demonstrate levels of volunteerism and civic engagement that go above and beyond their success and achievements in the classroom and in competition. The goal of the program is to provide recognition for these future community leaders, their teams, academic institutions, and the communities they support.

The final 20-person team was selected by the program's esteemed Selection Committee from an impressive pool of over 200 nominees nationwide.

Taylor overcame a rare thyroid cancer during her sophomore year and has since raised nearly $12,000 for the Massachusetts General Hospital Adolescent and Young Adult Program. She has also been a leader in the program's Team IMPACT initiatives. On campus, Taylor serves as a Student-Athlete Wellness Leader, a Harvard Peer Advising Fellow, a volunteer advisor for the department, and a career advisor for the Mignone Career Center. She is also actively involved in Athletes in Action and volunteers at the Harvard Homeless Shelter. This year, Taylor returned from Baku, Azerbaijan, where she presented research on how patterns of deforestation may have predicted Ebola spillover events.

Taylor earned All-Ivy Honorable Mention in both her first and second years in a Crimson uniform and was named a finalist for the Honda Inspiration Award in 2023. Appearing in 52 career games to date, Taylor has recorded 93 ground balls, 54 caused turnovers, and six draw controls throughout her career.

The Allstate NACDA Good Works Team builds on the legacy of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, which has recognized college football players for their off-the-field contributions since 1992. The NACDA initiative honors 60 additional student-athletes across the winter, spring, and fall sports seasons (20 student-athletes per season—10 male and 10 female) across all sports and all divisions.
