ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Harvard women's sailing finished fourth at the ICSA Women's Fleet Race semifinals to advance to the finals on May 22 and 23 in St. Mary's City, Maryland.
After a shortened first day, the Crimson competed in 13 races across the two divisions to move into the top five and officially advance to the finals.
Cordelia Burn (skipper) and
Margo Silliman (crew) competed in all nine A division races, placing second, third, seventh, and 15
th across the six races on day two. Harvard finished within the top three in each of the final three runs to end the day strong.
Zoey Ziskind (skipper) competed with
Christina Chen (crew) and
Peyton Hadfield (crew) in division B's seven races today. The Crimson began the day strong, finishing fifth in three straight races, then winning the fourth. Harvard then finished sixth and twice in eighth place in the final three races to bring the team's total score to 106 and sit firmly within the top nine.
The Crimson will join Stanford, Cornell, Boston College, Dartmouth, South Florida, MIT, Penn, and Bowdoin in the finals as the nine advancing teams from the Eastern division. Competition will begin tomorrow morning in Maryland.
