ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Harvard sailing finished the first day of the ICSA Women's Fleet Race National Championship in ninth with a total score of 54.
With more uncooperative weather, only three races were completed in each division.
Cordelia Burn (skipper) and
Margo Silliman (crew) remained as the Crimson's Division A sailors, ranking ninth after day one with finishes of fourth, eighth, and 14
th.
Zoey Ziskind (skipper) and
Peyton Hadfield (crew) represented the Crimson in the opening two races in division B, collecting 11
th and eighth place finishes, respectively.
Christina Chen slipped into the crew spot for the final race of the day as Harvard finished ninth, securing an 11
th place rank in Division B.
With its total score of 54 and one more day of races ahead, Harvard sits just nine points out of the top five. Tulane currently sits firmly at the top with a score of 27 followed by Georgetown (38), Brown (38), Stanford (39), and Dartmouth (45) making up the top five.
A national champion will be crowned today the ICSA Women's Fleet Race National Championship concludes in St. Mary's City, Maryland.
