Women’s Basketball Hits the Road to Face Penn, Princeton

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's basketball (8-7, 1-1 Ivy) will head back on the road to face Penn (10-5, 0-2 Ivy) and No. 22 Princeton (14-1, 2-0 Ivy) over the long holiday weekend. 

The Crimson will open the weekend on Saturday, January 17 at 2:00 p.m. ET in Philadelphia against a Quakers team looking for its league win.  Then, after a day off, Harvard will face the current No. 22 nationally ranked team in New Jersey at 2:00 p.m. ET. 

The Last Time Out

  • In its last time out the Crimson fell to Columbia, 58-55, in an instant classic. 
  • Harvard showed incredible fight in the contest, battling back from 17 points down in the third quarter.  The game was tied at 47-all heading into the fourth quarter as Harvard outscored the Lions 26-13 in the third. 
  • Abigail Wright led the Crimson's offense with 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting.  Along with her fifth 20-piece, the junior also grabbed six boards. 
  • Karlee White came alive in the second half to help lead the comeback, notching 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting.  Overall, the junior captain contributed 13 points and four rebounds in the game. 
  • Saniyah Glenn-Bello was the final Crimson player in double figures adding 12 points.
  • Olivia Jones provided another gritty performance, leading the Crimson in rebounds and steals with eight boards and three takeaways. 

Stepping into a Leading Role

  • Abigail Wright and Karlee White have smoothly transitioned into leading roles this season.  The junior are the top scorers for the Crimson and are each averaging career-highs at 15.1 and 11.9 points per game.
  • Wright is also the team's leading rebounder, averaging 6.9 per game to rank sixth in the Ivy league.  More specifically, the junior forward attacks the offensive glass and is currently the 12th-best offensive rebounder in the nation with her 4.2 per game average.
  • Not only is White averaging a career-high but she is also doing so at an incredibly efficient rate, shooting 50.0% from the field.
  • Before being sidelined with an injury, the junior guard began the year by scoring in double figures in five of the first six games, matching her entire total of double figure games from her first two seasons. 
  • The junior pair was elected as team captains for the Harvard women's basketball team prior to the start of the 2025-26 season. 

Stuffing the Stat Sheet

  • Saniyah Glenn-Bello has consistently provided a presence all over the court during her senior season.
  • Glenn-Bello is averaging a career-high in nearly every statistical category by averaging 10.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.4 blocks per game.
  • After not scoring in double figures in the first four games, Glenn-Bello has now done so in 10 of the last 11 games. 

Spreading the Love

  • The Crimson has had five games with four players in double figure scoring through 15 games in 2025-26.  Harvard did not have four players in double figures in a single game during the 2024-25 season. 
  • Overall, Abigail Wright (15.1), Karlee White (11.9), Saniyah Glenn-Bello (10.9), and Katie Krupa (8.1) are all averaging over eight points a game. 

First Impressions

  • Olivia Jones has made a name for herself in the league already, having been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week a league-best three times. 
  • The first-year received the honor on November 10, December 8, and most recently on January 6. 
  • Jones was named Rookie of the Week after recording 11 points, four assists, five rebounds, a block, and a steal against Dartmouth. 

The Season at a Glance

  • The Crimson's season is comprised of 13 non-conference games and its annual 14-game Ivy League slate.
  • The Crimson played five power conference opponents in the first month of action including No. 13 Michigan (Big Ten), Cal (ACC), Boston College (ACC), Alabama (SEC), and Arkansas (SEC).
  • Harvard competed at two prominent tournaments in November, the Raising the B.A.R. Invitational hosted by the University of California and the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship in Nassau, The Bahamas.
  • Harvard plays Columbia, Yale, and Brown in Lavietes Pavilion during the first half of the Ivy season followed by Dartmouth, Cornell, Penn, and Princeton during the month of February. 

Harvard-Penn History

  • The Crimson holds a 57-38 lead in the all-time series versus the Quakers.
  • The series has been a back-and forth affair with the series being split in six out of the last seven years. 
  • Last year was the first time since the 2012 season that the Crimson had swept the Quakers and the first time in the Carrie Moore era that Harvard won at the Palestra. 

Harvard-Princeton History

  • The Crimson trails 43-55 in the all-time series versus the Tigers. 
  • Harvard won the most recent meeting between the two teams, defeating Princeton, 70-67, in the Ivy Madness semifinals last season. 

Next Up

Harvard will travel to Ithaca, N.Y. next weekend to take on Cornell on Saturday, January 24 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
