Men's Squash

No. 3 Men’s Squash Victorious Against No. 10 Cornell

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's squash team closed out the weekend on a high note after defeating its Ivy League foe, Cornell, 9-0 at the Murr Center. The Crimson (6-0, 3-0) swept the Big Red (4-5, 0-2) and will now move into the CSA individual National Championship with an unbeaten record intact.
 

How it Happened

The Crimson closed out its weekend of squash at the Murr Center this afternoon when it took on the No. 10 Cornell Big Red. Harvard put its unbeaten record on the line this afternoon in the Ivy battle, as the team aimed to begin the season 6-0.
 
Alexander Broadbridge was first in the win column for the Crimson, posting a 3-0 win at sixes. Broadbridge won a thriller in the first game (14-12) before cruising in the final two games to post the win. Jacob Lin battled from behind in his match at sevens, taking the final three games after narrowly falling in the first to take a 3-1 victory. David Costales wo his match at ones in similar fashion, rallying after a loss in the first game to win the final three. Costales outscored his opponent 33-7 in the final three games to earn the win.
 
Maddox Moxham kicked off the second wave of matches with a win at fives. Moxham posted a 3-0 sweep while outscoring his opposition, 33 14. Ishant Shah clinched the match win for the Crimson at nines after securing a 3-0 sweep. Shah blanked his opponent in the second game, winning 11-8, 11-0, 11-2. Deni Gilevskiy came out on top in his marathon of a match at twos, winning 3-1 in a match that lasted just over an hour.
 
In the final series of matches, Christian Capella earned a 3-0 win at fours and Omar Azzam followed suit with a 3-0 win of his own at threes. Segev Rome also earned a win in his match at eights, taking the match, 3-1. Harvard completed its third 9-0 sweep of the season to move to 6-0 in the campaign

Up Next

The Crimson will now move on to compete in the 2026 CSA Individual National Championships next week. The tournament kicks off on Friday (Jan. 23) and will run through Tuesday (Jan. 27). A select group of Crimson student-athletes will compete in the draws, which are set to be released this week.
