CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's lacrosse was represented by two of its captains on the USA Lacrosse Preseason All-America Teams, which were announced by the organization on Tuesday (Jan. 20). The duo of
Logan Ip and
Jack Speidell landed on the second and third team, respectively ahead of the Crimson's highly anticipated 2026 campaign.
Â
A senior midfielder out of California,
Logan Ip landed on the second team after being named to the 2025 USA Lacrosse Third Team All-America a season ago. The Corona Del Mar and West Coast Starz product set career highs last year, posting 38 points, 23 goals and 15 assists while also serving as a junior captain. A deadly shooter from the midfield, Ip ranked fifth in the NCAA with a .489 shooting percentage while putting 81-percent of his shots on cage. Returning to captain the Crimson in 2026, Ip earned Honorable Mention All-America honors from the USILA and Inside Lacrosse while also being named an All-Ivy First Team selection in the 2025 season.
Â
A breakout sophomore season for
Jack Speidell helped him earn a post on the third team this preseason. A Long Island native, Speidell scored 3.07 goals per game in 2025 – the eighth most in the NCAA – and poured in 46 total goals to lead the Crimson attack. A 2025 USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American, Speidell landed on the All-Ivy Second Team a year ago after totaling 59 points while adding seven caused turnovers.
Â
The USA Lacrosse Division I Men's Preseason All-America teams honored 84 players from 31 institutions. Preseason All-Americans are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors with input from collegiate coaches.
Â
Ip and Speidell were both critical pieces of the 2025 Crimson team that secured 10 wins and spots in the Ivy League and NCAA Tournaments during the 2025 season. Now, the duo will look to carry over its strong play to the 2026 season, that is set to begin in less than a month.
