Men's Squash

No. 2 Men’s Squash Falls to No.1 Trinity

HARTFORD, Conn. – The No. 2 Harvard men's squash team went toe-to-toe with the nation's top team this evening when it battled No. 1 Trinty. The Crimson (6-1, 3-0 Ivy) battled throughout the match but could not get past the Bantams, who handed Harvard its first loss of the 2025-26 campaign.

How it Happened

The Crimson made the short trip down to Hartford this evening to battle the No. 1 team in the nation, the Trinity Bantams, on their home courts. Coming into the matchup with a No. 2 ranking in the country, Harvard was looking to knock off the top ranked Bantams on the road to remain unbeaten on the season.

It was Trinity who was first on the scoreboard this evening after taking a 3-0 win at eights. Christian Capella was the first student-athlete in the win column for the Crimson after earning a 3-1 win at fours. The first-year won three straight games after falling in a first game tiebreak to secure the point for Harvard. Omar Azzam put the Crimson in the lead by outlasting his opponent at threes to earn a 3-2 win. The junior posted a thrilling 3-2 victory – that included two tiebreak game wins – to give his team a 2-1 lead in the match.

Trinity began to roll in the second wave, earning three consecutive victories at sevens, fives and ones to take back the lead and make the match 4-2. The Bantams kept pushing in the final wave, clinching the victory with three straight wins at nines, sixes and twos, earning the 7-2 win over Harvard.
