Skiing Begins Competition on Day One of St. Lawrence Carnival

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Harvard University skiing began its 2026 season with day one of competition at the St. Lawrence Carnival on Sunday at Mt. Van Hoevenberg alongside the U.S. Cross Country National Championships.
 
Competing in the 10k classic, four Crimson – Hayden McJunkin, Clara Lake, Hanna Wilsey, and Breagh Bridge – finished in the top 50 of the women's 10k classic among EISA skiers while first-year Braden Bellizzi came in as the top finisher for Harvard in the men's 10k classic.
 
As a team, Harvard stands in 10th place in the EISA with 67 points.
 
Harvard will close competition at the St. Lawrence Carnival on Tuesday, Jan. 6 with the freestyle sprint. 

Harvard Highlights: Day 1

  • Senior Hayden McJunkin led the Crimson with a 36th-place finish in the women's 10k classic with a time of 34:27.5 for 19 EISA points.
  • Junior Clara Lake came in 37th in the women's 10k classic behind a time of 34:30.1 for 18 EISA points.
  • Sophomore Hanna Wilsey placed 41st in 34:46.8 for 17 EISA points, and junior Breagh Bridge added a 50th-place finish in 35:04.9.
  • First-year Braden Bellizzi paced the men's team with a 53rd-place finish in 30:02.9 for 13 EISA points.

Next Up

Harvard will close competition at the St. Lawrence Carnival on Tuesday, Jan. 6 with the freestyle sprint.
 
Following Tuesday's action, Harvard will compete in the alpine side of the Colby Carnival from Jan. 16-17 at Sugarloaf in Carrabassett Valley, Maine, the alpine side of the St. Lawrence Carnival from Jan. 22-23 at Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, New York, and in the nordic side of the Colby Carnival from Jan. 23-24 at Quarry Road in Waterville, Maine.
