CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – After an impressive win at the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship – Round 1, Harvard Sailing steers toward three regattas scheduled for this weekend. On Oct. 10-11, the Crimson will attend the Open Atlantic Coast Championship – Round 1 (hosted by St. Mary's), the Stu Nelson Trophy (hosted by Connecticut College), and the Sister Ester Trophy (hosted by Salve Regina).

Newport will be partly cloudy Saturday, with temperatures ranging from mid-50s to mid-60s throughout the day. Winds will reach 4-8 knots originating in the west. There is a chance of rain Sunday (50 percent), and winds will blow between 8-13 knots from the south.
What to Know
- Harvard Sailing embarks on a three-regatta weekend following a successful showing to open October. The Crimson emerged victorious at the Women's Atlantic Coast Championships – Round 1 with a score of 57, significantly surpassing Roger Williams' second-place score of 92. Zoey Ziskind, Christina Chen, Kate Danielson, JJ Drummond and Peyton Hadfield were named NEISA Sailors-of-the-Week on Wednesday after their impressive showing in Maine.
- Ziskind and Chen competed in the A-Division at the ACC, while Danielson and Drummond took on the B-Division. Ziskind-Chen stayed steady throughout the competition, completing all 10 races in seventh place or better and earning top-three spots seven times. The pair topped the division with a score of 32. Danielson-Drummond led their division, finishing with an impressive 25 points.
- At the Danmark Trophy, Harvard finished in fourth place, tied with Boston College, with a score of 17. As a result of its number of high-place finishes, the Crimson earned the higher placing. A-Division sailors Harrison Strom and Zia Zucker, and B-Division sailors Jacob Posner and Amelie Zucker competed for Harvard in Connecticut. Strom and Z. Zucker started the day with 9-19-16, but found footing in Race 4 finishing in third-place. The duo continued to post eight straight single digit finishes and ended the regatta with 92 points. Posner and A. Zucker won three of 11 races and earned three other single-digit places, finishing with an 84.
- Harvard finished in ninth at the Moody Trophy, with a score of 186. Bowdoin took home first-place with a score of 135. Max Wolfensberger worked with Michelle Chung in the A-Division, with Grace Montgomery and Noelle Brighton in the B-Division. Wolfensberger and Chung finished their day with a 1-10-1-3 and a score of 70, placing fourth in the division. Montgomery and Brighton ended with a score of 116 in the B-Division.
- Harvard Sailing also attended two local regattas last weekend in the Smith Trophy (MIT) and BU Invitational. The Crimson kept sailors Pax Huybers and Whitney Pickett in Cambridge to compete in the A-Division as well sailors Grace Naylor and Elizabeth Jacobsson to compete in the B-Division. Overall, Harvard finished in 14th place with a score of 235. At the Saturday regatta hosted by Boston University, sailors James Bergstrom and Mizuki Yashiro united to take on the A-Division, while Ross Wilson and Antonia Kolb competed in the B-Division. Harvard finished the day with a 315 (Bergstrom-Yashiro – 149; Wilson-Kolb – 166).
- The Crimson's upcoming schedule features the same three regattas as last year. Harvard earned a victory at the Stu Nelson Trophy with a score of 64, and had an impressive second-place showing at Open Atlantic Coast Championship with a score of 66 (both of which took place in New London, Conn.). In Newport at the Sister Esther, Harvard took 12th place with a score of 88.
