PRINCETON, N.J. – After a record-breaking performance in the men's 200m at the Riverhawk Invitational over the weekend, junior
Amari Turner is the Ivy League Men's Athlete of the Week for the first time in his Crimson career.
A native of Sanford, Florida, Turner is putting in consistent and stellar showings in the 200m this season, as that all culminated in a historic run in the men's 200m at the Riverhawk Invitational. Turner won the event with a time of 20.77, a new program record for the Crimson. With that time, Turner is the first student-athlete in school history to run a sub-21 second time in the indoor men's 200m.
Turner's performance at the Riverhawk Invitational vaulted him up the national leader in the men's 200m, as his time is tied for 16
th in the NCAA this season. His 20.77 also ranks second in the Ivy League heading into the penultimate weekend of the indoor regular season.
Harvard will feature in three meets this weekend, hosting the Crimson Open and taking part in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational and the Tiger Paw Invite.
