Ainsley Tuffy Named MAC Goaltending ECAC Goaltender of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Harvard women's ice hockey was once again represented on the ECAC's weekly honor roll this week with the MAC Goalteding Goalie of the Week award going to Ainsley Tuffy. The sophomore netminder earns her second Goalie of the Week award after posting 68 saves and a win over No. 7 Princeton (Feb. 7) as well as a draw vs. No. 8 Quinnipiac (Feb. 6). This is the second career weekly honor for Tuffy and seventh weekly award for the Crimson as a team this season.

A Duxbury native, Tuffy began the weekend by helping Harvard take points away from its matchup ith No. 8 Quinnipiac in a 1-1 draw. The sophomore made 30 saves between the posts to help her team earn a result over the Bobcats for the first time since 2022. In addition to allowing just one goal in 65 minutes against one of the country's best offenses, Tuffy made stops on all three Bobcat shootout attempts to help the Crimson earn a shootout victory.

Tuffy continued her stellar play in the Saturday matchup against No. 7 Princeton, holding the nation's 7th-best scoring offense to just two goals while making 38 saves. The netminder kept Princeton off the board in crunch time, which allowed Harvard to mount a comeback and eventually defeat the No. 7 Tigers on a late third-period goal by Ella Lucia. It was Harvard's second top-10 win of the year and first win over Princeton since 2022.

Tuffy has been posting performances like these all season and currently leads the country with a .956 save percentage. In 15 games played, the Duxbury native has made 541 saves on 566 shots faced to help her take hold of the national lead. She also ranks inside the top 10 nationally with a 1.641 GAA and 12th in the NCAA with her .667 winning percentage.

The Crimson will close out the regular season this weekend with a trip to New York to battle RPI (Feb. 13) and Union (Feb. 14). Follow the team on social media (X, Instagram) and on GoCrimson.com for more updates on the team and the upcmonig ECAC Tournament.
