CHARLESTON, S.C. – Harvard Sailing opened its spring competition slate this past weekend in Charleston, finishing second out of 12 teams at the 2026 Southern Collegiate Offshore Regatta. 

The Crimson team, comprised of Xavier Ayala-Vermont, James Bregstrom, Olivia Hogan-Lopez, Aidan Pesce, Theresa Straw, and Jacob Posner, finishing just one point behind the top-place team with a total score of 18. 

Day one of the regatta featured five races and the Crimson started strong with a first-place finish.  Harvard posted two second-place finishes along with fifth- and sixth-place results to sit three points behind the College of Charleston after the first day. 

In Sunday's only race, the Crimson posted its third second place finish of the weekend to lock up its second-place spot in the regatta.
