CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard University skiing will close its EISA carnival season at the Middlebury Carnival for the NCAA Regional Championships from Friday, Feb. 20 to Saturday, Feb. 21 with alpine competing at the Middlebury Snowbowl in Hancock, Vermont and nordic competing at the Rikert Outdoor Center in Ripton, Vermont.
What to Know
- Friday's competition will include the men's slalom (9:00 a.m. first run, 12:30 p.m. second run) and the women's slalom (10:15 a.m. first run, 1:15 p.m. second run) second run on the alpine side along with the men's 7.5k classic individual start (10:00 a.m.) and the women's 7.5k classic individual start (12:00 p.m.) on the nordic side.
- Saturday's action will feature the women's giant slalom (8:45 a.m. first run, 10:00 a.m. second run) and the men's giant slalom (10:00 a.m. first run, 1:00 p.m. second run) in alpine competition alongside the men's 20k skate mass start (10:00 a.m.) and the women's 20k skate mass start (12:00 p.m.) in nordic action.
- In the EISA NCAA Rankings, sophomore Duncan Armstrong ranks 14th overall in men's alpine, junior Meredith Schwartz stands 18th overall in women's nordic, sophomore Skylar Sheppard sits 22nd overall in women's alpine, and senior Hayden McJunkin ranks 29th overall in women's nordic.
- In the penultimate EISA carnival of the season at the Williams Carnival, the Crimson registered three alpine top-30 finishes and three nordic top-30 efforts alongside a sixth-place finish for the nordic women in the classic relay. Sophomore Duncan Armstrong came in 11th in the men's giant slalom and 12th in the men's slalom.
- At the fourth carnival of the campaign at the Vermont Carnival, Harvard compiled three alpine top-30 finishes and three nordic top-30 finishes. Sophomore Duncan Armstrong placed fourth in the men's giant slalom, and junior Meredith Schwartz came in seventh in the women's sprint classic.
- In the third carnival of the year at the Dartmouth Carnival, the Crimson totaled nine top-30 finishes from the nordic team and three top-30 showings from the alpine team. The nordic side featured top-20 efforts from junior Breagh Bridge (17th in women's 15k freestyle), sophomore Bennett Hutchison (15th in men's 15k freestyle), senior Hayden McJunkin (20th in women's 15k freestyle), and junior Meredith Schwartz (14th in women's 7.5k classic).
- Competing at the 2026 Colby Carnival, Harvard notched nine top-30 finishes on the nordic side and five top-30 efforts on the alpine side. Sophomores Duncan Armstrong (fourth in the men's giant slalom) and Skylar Sheppard (sixth in the women's slalom) each posted top-10 efforts.
- At the 2026 SLU Carnival, the Crimson tallied five top-30 showings on the alpine side and four top-30 finishes on the nordic side. Sophomore Duncan Armstrong placed ninth in the men's giant slalom to pace the Crimson.
- The Middlebury Carnival also took place last season in 2025. Luke Kearing took eighth place in the men's slalom and 11th place in the men's giant slalom to lead the Crimson on the weekend.
- Nordic skiing alumnus Rémi Drolet is in the midst of competition at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympic Games with Team Canada. A two-time Olympian, Drolet has placed 42nd in the men's 10km + 10km skiathlon, 56th in the men's sprint classic, 19th in the men's 10km interval start freestyle, and fifth in the men's 4x7.5km relay so far at the 2026 Games. A 2022 Olympian for Team Canada, Drolet concluded his time with the Crimson as a three-time All-American, two-time CSC Academic All-American, three-time NCAA qualifier, a 2023 NCAA Champion, and an NCAA Today's Top 10 honoree.
- The Crimson will feature two captains on both the alpine and nordic teams. Senior Luke Kearing and sophomore Skylar Sheppard will serve as captains on the alpine side while junior Breagh Bridge and sophomore Bennett Hutchison will act as captains on the nordic team.
- Harvard's roster features 24 total skiers with 12 student-athletes each on the alpine and nordic teams. The Crimson's roster includes three seniors, seven juniors, eight sophomores, and six first-years. Seniors Luke Kearing, Hayden McJunkin, and Olyvia Snyder represent the Class of 2026.
- Harvard has qualified skiers on both the alpine and nordic sides for the NCAA Championships in each of the last five competitive seasons. Sophomore Duncan Armstrong returns for the Crimson after qualifying for NCAAs in 2025.
- The Crimson welcomes six first-years in the Class of 2029, including Braden Bellizzi, Caleb Boyce, Caroline Collins, Logan Cuddy, Maya Eisner, and Tristan Leightell.
- Scott MacPherson – The Peter H. Carter '69 Head Coach for Harvard Alpine Skiing – stands in his ninth season at the helm of the alpine program in 2025-26. While at Harvard, MacPherson has twice earned EISA Coach of the Year honors (2019-20, 2022-23).
- Cate Brams – The Paul J. Finnegan Family Head Coach for Harvard Nordic Skiing – enters their second season as the leader of the Crimson's nordic program in 2025-26.
Next Up
Harvard will look to send representatives to the
NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Utah from March 11-14 with alpine events at Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah and nordic events at the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway, Utah. The championship's schedule of events will include giant slalom on March 11, the 7.5k classic on March 12, slalom on March 13, and the 20k freestyle on March 14.
The NCAA will announce selections for the championship on Wednesday, Mar. 4 at noon.
