CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Both the alpine and nordic ski teams return to action this weekend at the Vermont Carnival.
Hosted by the Catamounts, the Crimson alpine team will open competition Thursday at Stowe with the giant slalom, followed by the slalom on Friday. The nordic team begins action Friday at Oak Hill with the 7.5K classic, concluding the weekend with the 15K freestyle on Saturday.
WHAT TO KNOW | NORDIC SKIING
- Harvard Nordic Skiing turned in several strong performances at the Dartmouth Carnival, highlighted by consistent top-30 finishes across both days of competition.
- On the men's side, Bennett Hutchinson led the way, placing 25th on day one before improving to a 15th-place finish on day two.
- The women delivered steady results throughout the weekend. Meredith Schwartz recorded a 14th-place finish on day one and followed with a 28th-place result on day two. Breagh Bridge posted a pair of solid performances, finishing 22nd on day one and improving to 17th on day two.
- Hayden McJunkin added finishes of 26th on day one and 20th on day two, while Hanna Wilsey rounded out the weekend with a 30th-place finish on day two.
WHAT TO KNOW | ALPINE SKIING
- The alpine squad also found success at the Dartmouth Carnival, highlighted by multiple top-25 finishes.
- In Friday's giant slalom, senior Luke Kearing led the men with a 24th-place finish in a tightly packed field.
- Saturday's slalom saw Duncan Armstrong pace the Crimson with a 14th-place result. Kearing followed closely behind in 20th, while Maya Eisner was the lone qualifier on the women's side, finishing 44th.
