Women’s Basketball Opens Homestand Versus Cornell

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's basketball (14-9, 7-3 Ivy) will return home for its final homestand of the regular season beginning against Cornell on Saturday, February 21.  Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m. ET in Lavietes Pavilion and on ESPN+.

The Last Time Out

  • Last weekend, the Crimson went 1-1, defeating Yale, 70-62, and falling to Brown, 68-62.
  • To open the weekend, the Crimson slipped past the Yale Bulldogs on the back of a career night from Karlee White.
  • The junior co-captain posted half of Harvard's points as she shattered her career high with 35 points on 16-of-26 shooting.  The scoring total ranks inside the top 10 for single-game points in program history and her field goal total of 16 also ranks sixth in program history. The junior also added four rebounds, two assists, and two steals to her career performance.
  • Abigail Wright also surpassed double digits by adding 12 points on 50% shooting (6-of-12 FG).  The junior tallied a team-high six boards, a block, and a steal as well.
  • Katie Krupa had an all-around performance with nine points, a career-high seven assists, five rebounds, and a steal.
  • Olivia Jones contributed eight points, four boards, three assists, three steals, and a block against the Bulldogs.
  • The Crimson shot an even 50% from the field this evening with 30 made field goals. Most of Harvard's buckets came around the basket as it totaled 52 points in the paint.
  • Harvard's defense forced 19 Yale turnovers and converted for 27 points off the miscues.
  • The following day, the Crimson was bested by the Brown Bears despite another career day, this time from Wright.
  • Wright posted 29 points on 12-of-18 shooting including going 3-for-4 from three. The junior also added seven boards, a steal, and a block.
  • Wright tallied her sixth 20+ point outing with her career high.  Additionally, she drained three threes after having only made one in the first 22 games.
  • White posted her ninth straight double-digit outing with 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting.  The junior also distributed to her teammates, recording a season-high four assists.
  • Jones led the team in rebounding with nine and contributed three assists, two points, and two steals.
  • Krupa added six points, six rebounds, and three assists against the Bears.

Stepping into a Leading Role

  • Karlee White and Abigail Wright have smoothly transitioned into leading roles this season.  The juniors are the top scorers for the Crimson and are each averaging career highs with 15.0 and 14.1 points per game, respectively.  The total rank inside the top 10 in the Ivy League.
  • Wright is also the team's leading rebounder, averaging 6.5 per game to rank sixth in the Ivy League. More specifically, the junior forward attacks the offensive glass and is currently the 17th-best offensive rebounder in the nation with her 3.8 per game average.
  • Not only is White averaging a career-high but she is also doing so at an incredibly efficient rate, shooting 54.7% from the field.  The percentage ranks as the second best in the conference.
  • Before being sidelined with an injury, the junior guard began the year by scoring in double figures in five of the first six games, matching her entire total of double figure games from her first two seasons. Since returning, White has added 10 more double figure games to her career total.
  • The junior pairing was elected as team captains for the Harvard women's basketball team prior to the start of the 2025-26 season.

Stuffing the Stat Sheet

  • Saniyah Glenn-Bello has consistently provided a presence all over the court during her senior season.
  • Glenn-Bello is averaging a career high in nearly every statistical category by averaging 11.5 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game.
  • The senior ranks third in the league in blocks (1.2) and 15th in scoring (11.5).
  • After not scoring in double figures in the first four games, Glenn-Bello has now done so in 14 of her last 17 games played.
  • After averaging 17.5 points on 54.2% shooting and 77.8% from three, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 1.5 steals, and the game-tying and winning threes against Brown, Glenn-Bello recorded her first career Ivy League Player of the Week honor.

First Impressions

  • Olivia Jones has made a name for herself in the league already, having been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week a league-best six times. 
  • The first-year received the honor on November 10, December 8, January 6, January 20, January 26, and most recently on February 2. 
  • Jones was named Rookie of the Week after a strong two game stretch where she averaged 3.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.0 steals.  Additionally, against the Bulldogs Jones recorded a career high 12 rebounds.  
  • Aubrey Shaw, another new face for the Crimson, earned her first career Ivy League Rookie of the Week honor this past week.
  • Against Dartmouth, Shaw set a new career high for scoring with 15 points while sinking three threes.  The first-year also added four boards and a block in the contest.

The League Standings

  • Through the first seven weeks of the Ivy League season, the Crimson sits tied at third in the standings, alongside Brown, with a 7-3 record.
  • The Crimson and the Bears trail only Princeton and Columbia who sit atop the standings with 8-2 records. 
  • Penn (4-6), Cornell (3-7), Yale (2-8), and Dartmouth (1-9) make up the bottom portion of the current league standings. 

The Season at a Glance

  • The Crimson's season is comprised of 13 non-conference games and its annual 14-game Ivy League slate.
  • The Crimson played five power conference opponents in the first month of action including No. 13 Michigan (Big Ten), Cal (ACC), Boston College (ACC), Alabama (SEC), and Arkansas (SEC).
  • Harvard competed at two prominent tournaments in November, the Raising the B.A.R. Invitational hosted by the University of California and the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship in Nassau, The Bahamas.
  • Harvard plays Columbia, Yale, and Brown in Lavietes Pavilion during the first half of the Ivy season followed by Dartmouth, Cornell, Penn, and Princeton during the month of February. 

 Harvard-Cornell History

  • The Crimson has a dominant 78-134 lead in the all-time series versus the Big Red.
  • Harvard is currently on a seven-game win streak against the foe including defeating the Big Red 84-38 in Ithaca, N.Y. earlier this season.

Next Up

Harvard will host Penn (Feb. 27) and Princeton (Feb. 28) in its final home games of the season next weekend.
