Women's Lacrosse Returns Home to Face Holy Cross After Duke Win

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Women's lacrosse returns to Jordan Field to take on Holy Cross in its third straight non-conference matchup on Tuesday evening. 
 
Coming off its biggest win of the season over No. 12 Duke, the Crimson looks to pick up its third win of the non-conference slate. 

First draw is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and will stream live on ESPN+. 
 
WHAT TO KNOW 

  • Harvard hasn't lost to Holy Cross dating back to 2013. 
  • Winners of the last six meetings, the Crimson has lost just once to the Crusaders in the 15 games all-time.
  • It marks the first time Harvard has hosted Holy Cross since 2022 where it won 13-3. 
  • Over the last two meetings on the road, Harvard defeated the Crusaders 15-12 and 12-7. 
LAST TIME OUT 
  • The Crimson picked up its biggest win of the season, knocking off No. 12 Duke, 14–12, on Tuesday evening in North Carolina.
  • Upsetting the Blue Devils on the back of a five-goal game from Kate Gilliam, the Crimson jumped ahead early and fought off Duke's attack before clutch goals from Charlotte Hodgson and the Batchelder sisters helped secure the win over the nationally ranked Blue Devils.
  • Gilliam finished the game with six points after five goals and one assist. 
  • Callie Batchelder had five points. 
  • Lexie Koch led the Crimson with 7 draw controls. 
  • Stella SheaCallie BatchelderTori Balser, and Charlotte Hodgson all had multiple ground balls. 
  • Barkauskas made 6 saves in the win. 
  • It marks Harvard's biggest win since it knocked off No. 15 Navy on the road last season. 
KEY CONTRIBUTORS
  • Callie Batchelder leads the team in goals through seven games with 16 and is one of three Crimson players who have double-digit goals this season.
  • Over her last 21 games, the junior has tallied 44 goals.
  • Charlotte Hodgson, who has 14 goals on the season, became the second Crimson player to reach double-digit goals this year after a four-goal performance against the Tigers.
  • Hodgson leads the team in points with 14 goals and 11 assists through seven games.
  • After recording 48 points last year, Hodgson is over halfway to that career high just six games into the season.
BY THE NUMBERS
  • Harvard has outscored its opponents in the fourth quarter, 26-21.
  • Harvard has also recorded 62 caused turnovers, seven more than its opponents have forced through five games.
  • The Crimson is averaging 11.29 goals per game.
LAST SEASON AT A GLANCE
  • Consistently ranked in the top 25 all season, Harvard opened the year with three wins in its first four games, defeating UAlbany at Jordan Field in the season opener before notching a pair of upsets against No. 15 Navy and No. 23 UConn in late February.
  • Caroline Mullahy was the story of the season for the Crimson, rewriting the Harvard, Ivy League, and NCAA record books after a remarkable campaign. She tallied her 100th career assist in the season opener against UAlbany, broke the Harvard program record with her 112th assist against Bryant in late March, and then broke the Ivy League record in her next game against Brown.
  • Mullahy became just the seventh player in program history to record 200 career points after a six-point outing against Yale. She added two assists in the final game of the season to become just the 15th player in NCAA history to record 150+ career assists.
  • Mullahy was joined by Annabel Child as Crimson honorees on the All-Ivy First Team, and both were named USA Lacrosse All-Americans after earning honorable mention recognition.
NEW TO THE GROUP
  • The Crimson welcomes eight new members to the program as part of the Class of 2029.
  • Three members of the rookie class were named to the Inside Lacrosse Power 100 rankings, with Lexie Koch earning the highest ranking at No. 40, while Emerson Midura and Cecilia Batchelder received honorable mention recognition.
LEADING THE GROUP
  • Despina Giannakopoulos and Kate Gilliam are set to lead the Crimson this season.
  • Giannakopoulos started all 14 games last season and all 15 games the year before, serving as a key member of the defensive unit throughout her tenure.
  • Gilliam returns for her senior season after appearing in 29 games during her Crimson career. The New York native scored three goals last season.
KEY RETURNERS
  • Offensive leaders Charlotte HodgsonCallie Batchelder, and Grace Mullahy all return for the Crimson.
  • Batchelder recorded a career-high 45 points, with 26 goals and 18 assists, in her sophomore campaign.
  • Hodgson added a career-best 40 points after leading the team with 30 goals.
  • Playing alongside her sister, Grace Mullahy increased her point production by 33 points in her sophomore season.
