Men’s Basketball’s Hinton Gains First Team NABC All-District Honors

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's Basketball sophomore guard Robert Hinton has earned First Team NABC All-District for the North Atlantic District, the National Association of Basketball Coaches announced on Tuesday morning.
 
Also, a unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection this past season, Hinton tallied 16.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game on the year, while shooting 49.1 percent from the field and 82.9 percent from the free throw line. In conference play, he averaged 18.4 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game, while shooting 52.6 percent from the floor.
 
This past season, he ranked first in the Ivy League in field goals (187), second in points (486), fifth in points per game (16.8), fifth in free throw percentage (82.9), fifth in minutes per game (33.5), sixth in free throws (87), and sixth in steals per game (1.4). In Ivy only play, he stood first in field goals (101), second in points (257), third in points per game (18.4), and fifth in minutes per game (35.2). For the season, Hinton scored in double figures 24 times, notched nine 20-point games, and eclipsed 30 points twice.
 
The All-District honors are voted on by NABC-member coaches across NCAA Division I.
 
As a team, Harvard posted a 17-12 overall record and 10-4 mark in Ivy League play, finishing in second place in the Ivy League standings for its best finish since the 2019-20 season. The Crimson qualified for the Ivy League Tournament for the first time since 2020 and competed in the event for the first time since 2019 as the 2020 edition was canceled due to COVID-19. For the year, the Crimson led the conference in scoring defense (66.7).
