PRINCETON, N.J. – After a superb weekend at the plate in South Beach this past weekend, first-year infielder
Hannah Ziecik is the Ivy League Rookie of the Week, joining classmate
Sheila Forbes as the two Crimson to earn this honor during the 2026 campaign.
A native of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Ziecik led the line for Harvard's offense at the FIU Classic, posting team bests in batting average (.583), RBIs (7) and slugging percentage (.833). In the tournament opener against South Dakota, Ziecik launched a grand slam in the first inning for her first career home run, as Ziecik became just the third Crimson this season to drive in four runs in a single game. Ziecik recorded two hits in three straight contests in Miami, as she drove in at least one run across all four appearances as well.
Across 13 appearances this season, Ziecik ranks third on the team in both batting average (.382) and RBIs (9), as her .939 OPS is second on the Crimson. Ziecik is just one of four Crimson to hit a home run this year.
Harvard returns to action on Saturday, Mar. 14 and Sunday, Mar. 15, as the Crimson travel to Queens, N.Y. to face Army and St. John's.
