CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's Swimming and Diving will send first-year
William Mulgrew and sophomore
Adriano Arioti to compete at the 2026 NCAA Championships. The national meet is set for Wednesday, March 25-Saturday, March 28, at McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
Hailing from Walpole, Mulgrew is set to swim in the 1,650 and 500 freestyle events, which are scheduled for Wednesday and Friday, respectively. The first-year enters with the third-best 1,650 performance in the country – Ivy League-best 14:26.79 – and trails only Indiana's Zalan Sarkany (14:23.85) and Florida's Ahmed Jaouadi (14:25.14). The three swimmers are the only athletes to have times under 14:30.00 in the 32-person field. As for the 500 free, Mulgrew is one of 48 on the pre-meet psych sheet and comes in boasting the 18
th-best time (4:12.03 – program record).
Arioti, meanwhile, earned a spot at nationals with his 1:39.60 Ivy-winning effort in the 200 back. As a result of that time, he was invited to compete in the 100 back (45.90) and 200 individual medley (1:43.11). The 100 back is slated for Friday, with the 200 back and 200 IM set for Saturday.
Each day will feature the preliminary heats at 10 a.m. ET and the finals at 6 p.m. ET. All sessions, meanwhile, will air live on ESPN+.
