Men’s Golf Finishes Fourth at Cutter Creek Intercollegiate

SNOW HILL, N.C. – Harvard men's golf opened its Spring season with a fourth-place finish at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate. Barry Zhang, William Ma and Isaac Ahn all finished in the top 20 on the leaderboard to power the Crimson during the tournament at the Cutter Creek Golf Club.
 

How it Happened

The Harvard men's golf team made the trip down to Snow Hill over the weekend to battle in the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate for the third consecutive season. The tournament served as the Spring opener for the Crimson.
 
The team started strong on day one, posting a team score of 286 (-2) to move into fifth place in the field after the first round. William Ma led the team with a first round score of 70 (-2) in a round that featured four birdies. Morgan Riley's round of 71 (-1) was second best in the scoring group. Riley carded two birdies and just a singular bogey in the opening round. Ieuan Jones shot an ever par round of 72 and posted a team-best five birdies. Jonathan Hartono posted a 73 (+1) to round out the team scoring in the opening round. Barry Zhang and Isaac Ahn both shot 74 (+2) to come in just outside the scoring line. In individual play, newcomer Jacques Roger fired a round of 69 (-3).
 
Ahn came on strong in the second round, leading the team with a score of 71 (-1). Zhang remained steady, posting a 73 (+1) while William Ma and Morgan Riley posted rounds of 75 (+3) and 76 (+4) to factor into the team scoring. The Crimson moved up one spot into fourth place on the team leaderboard after the second round wrapped up.
 
Zhang continued his run with a tournament best score of 70 (-2) in the final round. The sophomore carded six birdies in the final round to finish in 13th place on the leaderboard. Ma and Riley tied on the third day by posting rounds of 74 (+2). Ahn rounded out the team scoring by carding a 75 (+3). Harvard's team score of 293 kept the group in fourth place after the competition concluded.
 
Zhang's 13th-place finish was the best on the team but Ma, Ahn and Riley all placed in the top 25 at the Cutter Creek Golf Club.

Up Next

The Crimson will join the field at the Princeton Invitational on April 11-12 in its final tune up before the 2026 Ivy League Golf Championships. Harvard will compete at the Springdale Golf Club against a field full of Ivy League teams to see how it stacks up before the conference tournament in late April.
