Women’s Basketball Closes Regular Season with Trip to New York City

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard women's basketball (16-10, 9-4 Ivy) will conclude the regular season against Columbia this weekend in New York City on Saturday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m. ET. The two teams will meet for the first time since the second weekend of the Ivy League season where the Lions came out on top, 58-55.

The Last Time Out

  • Last weekend, the Crimson split the final back-to-back of the regular season defeating Penn, 60-46, and falling to No. 25 Princeton, 62-49.
  • On Friday, the Crimson used a balanced attack and strong defense to defeat the Quakers and clinch its spot in the Ivy League Tournament.
  • Four players reached double figures led by Abigail Wright's 14-point and 10-rebound double-double. It was the third double-double of the season for the junior.
  • Saniyah Glenn-Bello (12), Olivia Jones (11), and Karlee White (10) each joined Wright in double figures.
  • In her first game back from injury, Glenn-Bello tallied her 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from three.
  • Jones had an all-around performance with 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting, six boards, and a team-best three steals.
  • Harvard's defense forced 21 turnovers and recorded 13 steals and five blocks in the contest.
  • The following night, Harvard was tripped up by the nationally ranked Princeton Tigers.
  • White was the only Harvard player to reach double-digit scoring with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting. The junior also added seven rebounds, a block, and two steals in the contest.
  • White's double-figure outing marks her 12th consecutive game with 10+ points.
  • Nina Emnace provided a spark off the bench with eight points on 50% shooting and four rebounds.
  • Katie Krupa, Wright, Glenn-Bello, and Jones each added at least six points against the Tigers.
  • Jones led the way on the boards with nine rebounds including four on the offensive end.

Stepping into a Leading Role

  • Karlee White and Abigail Wright have smoothly transitioned into leading roles this season. The juniors are the top scorers for the Crimson and are each averaging career highs with 15.0 and 13.5 points per game, respectively. The totals rank inside the top 10 in the Ivy League.
  • Wright is also the team's leading rebounder, averaging 6.5 per game to rank seventh in the Ivy League. More specifically, the junior forward attacks the offensive glass and is currently the 22nd-best offensive rebounder in the nation with her 3.8 per game average.
  • Not only is White averaging a career high but she is also doing so at an incredibly efficient rate, shooting 56.2% from the field. The percentage ranks as the best in the conference.
  • Before being sidelined with an injury, the junior guard began the year by scoring in double figures in five of the first six games, matching her entire total of double-figure games from her first two seasons. Since returning, White has added 13 more double-figure games to her career total.
  • The junior pairing was elected as team captains for the Harvard women's basketball team prior to the start of the 2025-26 season.

Stuffing the Stat Sheet

  • Saniyah Glenn-Bello has consistently provided a presence all over the court during her senior season.
  • Glenn-Bello is averaging a career high in nearly every statistical category by averaging 11.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game.
  • The senior ranks second in the league in blocks (1.2) and 14th in scoring (11.3).
  • After not scoring in double figures in the first four games, Glenn-Bello has now done so in 15 of her last 19 games played.
  • After averaging 17.5 points on 54.2% shooting and 77.8% from three, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocks, 1.5 steals, and the game-tying and winning threes against Brown, Glenn-Bello recorded her first career Ivy League Player of the Week honor.

First Impressions

  • Olivia Jones has made a name for herself in the league already, having been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week a league-best eight times.
  • The first-year received the honor on November 10, December 8, January 6, January 20, January 26, February 2, February 23, and most recently on March 2.
  • Jones was most recently named Rookie of the Week after a strong two-game performance against Penn and Princeton last weekend. The first-year averaged 8.5 points on 54.5% shooting, 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 2.0 steals.
  • Aubrey Shaw, another new face for the Crimson, earned her first career Ivy League Rookie of the Week honor two weeks ago.
  • Against Dartmouth, Shaw set a new career high for scoring with 15 points while sinking three threes.  The first-year also added four boards and a block in the contest.

Impending Madness

  • This season's Ivy Madness field is locked with the Crimson and Brown securing the final spots last weekend.
  • Harvard and Brown join Princeton and Columbia who had clinched their spots a weekend prior.
  • With a win this weekend, the Crimson would secure the three-seed for the seventh time in tournament history.
  • As the three-seed last season, Harvard recorded two upsets to become the first non-one seed to win the tournament.

The Season at a Glance

  • The Crimson's season is comprised of 13 non-conference games and its annual 14-game Ivy League slate.
  • The Crimson played five power conference opponents in the first month of action including No. 13 Michigan (Big Ten), Cal (ACC), Boston College (ACC), Alabama (SEC), and Arkansas (SEC).
  • Harvard competed at two prominent tournaments in November, the Raising the B.A.R. Invitational hosted by the University of California and the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship in Nassau, The Bahamas.
  • Harvard plays Columbia, Yale, and Brown in Lavietes Pavilion during the first half of the Ivy season followed by Dartmouth, Cornell, Penn, and Princeton during the month of February.

Harvard-Columbia History

  • The Crimson has a commanding 67-16 lead in the all-time series versus the Lions.
  • Despite the large lead, 13 of Columbia's 16 total wins have come since 2019.
  • In the team's most recent meeting Columbia won 58-55 following a last-second Lions bucket.
  • Prior to that, the Crimson had won the last two meetings, defeating Columbia in the second regular season matchup last year and then the Ivy League Tournament championship game.
  • The two teams have faced off an unprecedented 11 times in Carrie Moore's four years with an opportunity to meet again next weekend in Ithaca, N.Y. at the Ivy League Tournament.
