WINSTON SALEM, N.C. – Harvard track & field began the weekend down south in Winston Salem, North Carolina, as the Crimson were stellar on the opening night of the Wake Forest Invitational.

HARVARD HIGHLIGHTS

• The evening began with the men's 800m open, as first-year Andrew Thornton-Sherman finished in fourth place in his heat after crossing the finish line in 1:52.47. A native of Waterford, Vermont, Thornton-Sherman's time is the fastest in his early collegiate career.
• In the invite sections of the women's 800m, junior Sophia Gorriaran, a first team All-American in the women's 800m this indoor season, finished in third place with a time of 2:02.23. Gorriaran's time ranks 16^th in the nation this season.
• The first heat of the men's 3000m steeplechase open saw junior Ethan Aidam post a 9:27.33 to take eighth place in his heat. Over in the invitational section of the men's 3000m steeplechase, sophomore William Brunner took 11^th place after stopping the clock at 9:08.78.
• An NCAA Championships qualifier in the women's 3000m steeplechase last year, senior Molly Malague made her season debut in the event this afternoon. A native of Metuchen, New Jersey, Malague took sixth place with a time of 10:07.55.
• Junior Owen Bosley placed in 11^th in heat of the men's 5000m open with a time of 14:32.76, while senior Abby Weber recorded a 24^th place showing after ending the race in 17:53.89.
