CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's Swimming and Diving has named rising seniors
David Schmitt and
Sonny Wang as its team captains for the 2026-27 campaign.
Hailing from San Juan Capistrano, California, Schmitt was re-elected by his teammates to lead the Crimson after serving as team captain alongside outgoing seniors
David Greeley and
Raphael Tourette in 2025-26. The soon-to-be senior has been a multi-time Ivy League champion and CSCAA Scholar All-American, and appeared at the NCAA Championships in 2025.
Wang, meanwhile, has also found the top step at the Ivy League Championships on multiple occasions, earned CSCAA Scholar All-America honors his first two seasons, and competed at the NCAA Championships in 2025. The rising senior is a product of Austin, Texas.
The duo will lead a Crimson program that finished the 2025-26 season with an 8-1 dual-meet record, including a 6-1 mark in the Ivy League. At the national level, Harvard finished the campaign ranked 39
th at the NCAA Championships, marking its first appearance in the final team standings since 2022.
