Men’s Swimming and Diving Announces 2026-27 Team Captains

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard Men's Swimming and Diving has named rising seniors David Schmitt and Sonny Wang as its team captains for the 2026-27 campaign.

Hailing from San Juan Capistrano, California, Schmitt was re-elected by his teammates to lead the Crimson after serving as team captain alongside outgoing seniors David Greeley and Raphael Tourette in 2025-26. The soon-to-be senior has been a multi-time Ivy League champion and CSCAA Scholar All-American, and appeared at the NCAA Championships in 2025.

Wang, meanwhile, has also found the top step at the Ivy League Championships on multiple occasions, earned CSCAA Scholar All-America honors his first two seasons, and competed at the NCAA Championships in 2025. The rising senior is a product of Austin, Texas.

The duo will lead a Crimson program that finished the 2025-26 season with an 8-1 dual-meet record, including a 6-1 mark in the Ivy League. At the national level, Harvard finished the campaign ranked 39th at the NCAA Championships, marking its first appearance in the final team standings since 2022.
