ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Top-seeded Harvard Sailing finds itself in first place after first-day semifinal action at the 2026 ICSA Open Fleet Racing National Championship. The Crimson totaled 16 points after weather allowed just four A-Division races and two in the B-Division.
Harvard leads the 18-team Eastern Semifinals and is ahead of Dartmouth (38), St. Mary's College of Maryland (42), Tulane (44) and Navy (46), which make up the rest of the top-5.
Competing for the Crimson in the A-Division were
Justin Callahan and
Jacob Posner, with
Mitchell Callahan and
Rosella Irfan being tapped for the B-Division.
Xavier Ayala-Vermont,
Christina Chen,
Michelle Chung,
Aidan Pesce,
Harrison Strom and
Amelie Zucker were also on site as reserves.
J. Callahan-Posner, NEISA's Open Sailor and Rookie of the Year, respectively, put up a solid 2-4-3-4 line through the first four races. The duo of M. Callahan-Irfan, meanwhile, was impressive in its two outings, winning its first race before finishing as the runner-up in its only other race of the day.
Harvard will return to action on Wednesday in search of a spot in the finals. The action is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. ET.
