CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men's lacrosse team reached new heights during an exciting 2026 season, continuing its climb back into the national picture under The Frisbie Family Head Coach for Harvard Men's Lacrosse, Gerry Byrne. The Crimson finished the year with nine wins and surged to an 8-0 start, its best opening run since the 1961 season and the program's first 8-0 start of the NCAA era. Harvard's early-season rise was highlighted by a 13-12 win over No. 1 Syracuse at Jordan Field on Feb. 21, marking the program's first victory over a top-ranked opponent. The Crimson went on to climb as high as No. 3 nationally and earned a berth in the Ivy League Tournament for the second straight year, the first time in program history that Harvard qualified for consecutive conference tournaments.
The season also featured another strong collection of individual honors for the Crimson. Six Harvard student-athletes earned All-Ivy League recognition, led by First Team selections Logan Ip and Sean Jordan, while Teddy Malone, Jack Speidell and John Aurandt IV landed on the Second Team and Quinn Kelly earned Honorable Mention status. Ip capped his decorated career as a USILA Second Team All-American and earned All-America honors from USA Lacrosse and Inside Lacrosse, while Aurandt collected All-America recognition from USA Lacrosse and Inside Lacrosse following a breakout senior season. Harvard also placed a program-record eight student-athletes on NEILA All-New England teams, with Malone, Ip, Owen Guest and Jordan earning First Team honors.
Harvard's depth powered one of the most balanced offensive seasons in recent program history, as Malone, Speidell, Ip, Nathan Cobery and Aurandt all finished with 30-plus points. It was the first time since 1997 Harvard had five 30-point performers in the same season. Malone led the team in scoring and closed his career among Harvard's all-time leaders in goals and points, while Speidell continued to cement himself as one of the nation's most complete attackmen and earned recognition as a recipient of the inaugural Coach Liam Gleason Humanitarian Award. In goal, Graham Stevens anchored the Crimson throughout the season, helping Harvard secure nine wins for just the sixth time in the past 30 years.
