CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - 2025-26 was a season Harvard men's golf won't soon forget. Harvard showed its strength throughout the regular season, competing with consistency and confidence against talented fields. The team's Fall season was highlighted by a second placefinish at the Georgetown Intercollegiate and trip to compete in the Hamptons Intercollegiate at the historic Maidstone Club. After kicking off the Spring with a top five finish at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate, the Crimson found its rhythm late in the spring by capturing the Princeton Invitational thanks to several key performances and not one, but two, hole-in-ones by first-year
Morgan Riley and newly appointed team captain, sophomore
William Ma.
The Crimson carried that momentum into the biggest weekend of the season and at the historic Baltusrol Golf Club in the 2026 Ivy League Championship. Entering the final round one shot off the lead, the Crimson pushed back into contention and finished the weekend with a team score of 874, winning the Ivy League title by a single stroke. It was Harvard's fifth Ivy League championship in program history and its first since 2017.
Barry Zhang led the charge, going wire-to-wire before winning a playoff to claim the individual Ivy League title.
Ieuan Jones and
William Ma added top-five finishes of their own, giving the Crimson three players on the All-Championship Team and sealing a complete team performance when it mattered most.
The Ivy League title earned Harvard an automatic bid to NCAA Regionals, where the Crimson made the most of the opportunity. At the NCAA Athens Regional, Harvard posted the best performance in program history, finishing tied for eighth at nine-under par. The Crimson closed with its best round of the tournament, moved up the leaderboard, and finished ahead of multiple nationally ranked teams. Zhang continued his standout postseason run with the best NCAA Regional finish ever by a Harvard golfer, placing tied for fourth at 11-under par. Ma added a top-15 finish, helping Harvard rewrite the program record book on the national stage.
The Crimson showed how bright the future is with a performance that was led by its young core of golfers. Harvard will return every student-athlete to its roster in 2026-27, where it will look to continue adding to the trophy case and make more history.
